Useful Information about products

What Are COSMOS Natural and COSMOS Organic Certifications?

COSMOS Natural and COSMOS Organic are certification standards for natural and organic cosmetics. They ensure product quality, sustainability, and safety. Here's what each certification means:

  • COSMOS Natural certifies that the product is made from natural ingredients. Key criteria include:

    • Natural origin: Ingredients must be derived from natural sources such as plants, minerals, or other naturally occurring substances.

    • Processing methods: Only limited processes are allowed, including physical methods (e.g., drying, cold pressing) and simple chemical processes (e.g., hydrolysis).

    • Environmental responsibility: Emphasizes eco-friendly practices throughout the product lifecycle, including biodegradability and sustainable sourcing.

    • Packaging: Prioritizes recyclable and environmentally friendly packaging materials.

  • COSMOS Organic includes all COSMOS Natural standards, plus additional criteria:

    • Organic content: At least 95% of agriculturally derived ingredients must be organically produced. In total, at least 20% of the product must be organic (10% for rinse-off products).

    • Certified ingredients: All ingredients must meet recognized organic farming standards.

    • Production integrity: Strict guidelines must be followed during manufacturing, processing, and storage to maintain ingredient purity.

    • No GMOs: The use of genetically modified organisms is prohibited.

Both certifications require adherence to strict safety, efficacy, and transparency standards, ensuring consumers receive trustworthy, high-quality products. Certified items display the "COSMOS Natural" or "COSMOS Organic" label beneath the certifying body’s logo. What Is the Percentage of Natural and Organic Ingredients in the Formula?

We follow the Ecocert COSMOS standard in certifying our products. Here's how natural and organic percentages break down:

  • Naturally certified formulas: At least 95% of the total ingredients are of natural origin.

  • Organically certified formulas: At least 95% of total ingredients are natural, 10% are from organic farming, and 95% of all plant-based ingredients are also organic.

Exact numbers vary by formula—please refer to each product's description for details.

Do the Products Contain Alcohol?

Not all alcohols are harmful to the skin—and every ingredient in Organigal products is carefully assessed for safety. Most products may contain alcohol traces, as plant extracts (excluding oils) are commonly produced using alcohol-based methods. Even if alcohol isn’t listed in the INCI, we cannot claim a product is 100% alcohol-free.

Are the Fragrances Natural?

Yes—all fragrances used in our products are 100% natural and vegan. They are carefully blended from botanical aromatic compounds and contain no synthetic fragrances, phthalates, or synthetic preservatives.

Do the Products Contain Palm Oil or Derivatives?

We do not use palm oil as a standalone ingredient. However, derivatives (like palmitic acid) may be present in small quantities as components of other ingredients. All palm-derived materials are RSPO-certified, ensuring sustainable sourcing.
